situation

Recently, we have observed an increase in the number of digital transformation projects in our clients. Most companies aim to achieve operation efficiency and cost reduction by reforming their business through the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Applications. My client was facing a surge of projects related to Human Resource (HR) systems reform and as a result it was necessary to increase their headcount. The eligible person for this role "must have" one, technical experience with HR system implementation, and two, worked as an HR consultant. The client had given us a few examples of target companies for the right person. So this made it really efficient to kick-start the search.

I usually begin my candidate searches using our internal database, LinkedIn or third-part job boards. This role required someone who had experience working as an IT consultant with HR system implementation experience. I believed that we have a good number of relevant profiles on our database, so I decided to utilize that resource first.

One good thing about working at Randstad is that every consultant shares their met candidates’ notes with every other consultant on the team. Therefore once we start working on a role we can do a quick search through our recently met candidates before moving to the database for a more thorough search. Also, easily accessible notes make it easy to shortlist the right candidates within a short time. We can also be confident that those candidates will be interested in the role that we are trying to pitch them. This saves a lot of time for each party involved in the search.

From my initial search I decided to shortlist 7 profiles and booked an appointment with 3 of them to screen further. After explaining about the company and role, 2 candidates agreed to apply and quickly received an invitation to the 1st interview round. After several rounds of interviews one of my initial introductions received an offer and quickly accepted it. The whole process, from submitting the profile to receiving an offer took about one month. The candidate who received the offer was an IT consultant who had changed jobs to a recruitment consultant but was looking to return back in to the IT consulting field.

This was a very rewarding project for two main reasons. One, the candidate received exactly what they were looking for and was very happy throughout the whole process. Two, I was able to serve the client within a short time. This was possible because of our company’s culture of information sharing and supporting infrastructure.
